Link Magazine has been serving the Montgomery County community since 2008.
Owner and founder Russell Kalousek grew up in The Woodlands area and still resides in Montgomery County. His entrepreneurial background started at an early age with a lawn mowing business run by him and his brother, Matt. Perhaps, they were inspired by their father who owned and operated a driving range in Montgomery County with a 9-hole, 3-par golf course. The entrepreneurial blood runs thick in this local family, as Matt opened his local business, Graphic DesignFX in 2006, and the two brothers renewed their business partnership once again with the opening of Link Magazine 2 years later.
Russell studied marketing and business at Stephen F. Austin State University. Drawing from his education and first-hand knowledge of Montgomery County, he developed Link Magazine as an innovative format for local businesses to connect and engage with the local community and offer local news and savings.
But the difference in approach between the two defined the difference between a vendor and a partner. Link came to my location and shot photos of my food at no charge and worked up a professional ad versus a cheap and clumsy ad. The other publication would reach out with 24 hours prior to print and offer no real contribution that made you stand out.
I am already waiting to start the next phase of work with a new menu and logo.
So you can appreciate the impact. The day of release was a Monday and we did more business on Monday than the 3 prior Fridays and we were standing room only. The next day, we beat Monday.
I would recommend with out reservation.
